Elementary school orchestra

RPS Elementary Orchestra Program strives to teach young musicians foundational techniques, posture, and performance in 4th and 5th grade. Our program is designed to prepare young musicians for middle and high school orchestra ensembles. 

The program operates on a six-day rotation. Students have one 30 minute lesson and one 45 minute rehearsal once a rotation. Lessons allow like instrument groups to build on their musical abilities on a string instrument. Rehearsals are designed to build community, team building, and techniques to increase the quality of performance. 

Ridgefield Elementary Orchestra program has unique opportunities for musicians to grow such as grades 4-8 string fest and the All Elementary District Music Festival. All levels of musicianship are welcome. Our goal is to create a fun, safe environment for students to learn a string instrument.
